Selecting the correct creasing matrix

Selecting the correct creasing matrix step 1
  • Firstly measure the board thickness 'C' - up to 700 gsm
  • Multiply the thickness 'C' by 1.5.
  • Add on the crease rule thickness 'D' (see table below).
  • This will give you measurement 'B'.
  • Find the correct width of MATRIX closest to measurement 'B'.
  • Measurement 'A' should be equivalent to the thickness 'C', though it may need adjusting with rule height.
Selecting the correct creasing matrix step 2
  • Firstly measure the compressed thickness of the board 'E'
  • Multiply the thickness 'E' by 2.
  • Add on the crease rule thickness 'D'.
  • This will give you measurement 'B'.
  • Find the correct width of MATRIX closest to measurement 'B'.
  • Measurement 'A' should be equivalent to the thickness 'E', though it may need adjusting with rule height.
Selecting the correct creasing matrix step 3
  • Firstly measure the width required between creases from centre to centre (Z).
  • Subtract the rule width (see table below).
  • This will give the measurement 'Y'. Choose the matrix closest to this.
  • To calculate measurement 'X', multiply the board thickness 'C' by 1.5
  • Take this measurement away from 'Y' to derive the matrix size closest to.
Selecting the correct creasing matrix step 4
  • Follow steps 1-3, as shown above for solid board to calculate measurement 'Y'.
  • To calculate the measurement 'X', firstly measure the board thickness 'E', and multiply x 2.0.
  • Take this away from measurement 'Y' to derive the matrix size closest to.
